WHAT IS AGITATION?
Agitation (noun): The action of arousing public concern about an issue and pressing for action on it.
For an abolitionist, agitation is bringing the Gospel into conflict with the prevailing worldview that says that it is okay to murder children. This conflict of ideas is the threshing floor in which we seek to "destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ” (2 Cor 10:5). Our goal as abolitionists is not solely to put an end to abortion, but also to destroy the mindset and beliefs that make it acceptable in the first place. We do this through engaging the culture around us. We use many means such as graphic images of murdered children to wake people up to the reality of the abortion holocaust and Biblically sound rhetoric to tear down deeply manifested falsehoods. It is not the abortionists or the abortion advocates that have kept abortion legal since 1973, but rather, it is the apathy of the masses, especially those who claim Christ, that has perpetuated the most horrific evil of our age. We do not only seek to agitate those who condone abortion with their tongues, but to agitate those who condone abortion with their silence. |
